I have worked with Thomas Yung for over 18 months. During those 18 months, I have learned a great deal about Thomas.

Thomas and I are both members of Toastmasters International and met when I was an Area Director for the organization. As an Area Director, we visit the local clubs that are under our guidance to help them with whatever challenges the club faces. One of my visits was to the Mayo Hi-Nooners club where Thomas is a member. Shortly after, I joined the club (as my home club had recently disbanded) and became its club president. I quickly learned that Thomas was and still is the glue that holds our small club together.

I lean on Thomas’s wealth of knowledge and determination on a consistent basis. Three projects come to mind when thinking about Thomas’ contribution to our club.

First and foremost was the development of a new website for our club. Toastmasters offers a free site to use to mage club activities, but sadly it is an archaic system. One of my first meetings, Thomas told me that he had been working on updating the club website for some time. What stood out to me the most about the website is the simple yet effective usability of the website. I still refer to the website on a very regular basis for all sorts of club information, which he routinely updates.

The second project I can think of is an Open House that our club co-hosted. Here again, Thomas showed his project management knowledge and efficiency by increasing our social media presence to help us get more guests to attend a meeting. I truly believe that he is the sole reason we had more guests than we did members - which was phenomenal! For this event, Thomas had also created a link with another club and communicated with them on a regular basis. This ensured a successful event!

The third project that comes to mind is our club banking update. Due to some turnover within the club, we needed to update club account signers so that our club funds were secure. Although I was the one that pushed the agenda forward, Thomas was my point of contact for the project. It required a great deal of coordination with other members and coordination with the bank. Thomas was my point man on the project, and he took care of business quickly and efficiently.

In conclusion, Thomas is talented, easy to work with, knowledgable, and determined. He sees opportunity where there is challenge. His work his of the utmost professional level and I highly recommend him.
